WedFest

I had a chance meeting with Jodie & James to begin this story, at the time I was hosting a black tie charity ball at Lynford Hall in aid of the St Nicholas Hospice Bury St Edmunds when Jodie introduced herself by my wife who knew her previously from her own charity work. Jodie explained that she was in the midst of planning a very unique affair, a music festival inspired wedding in the nearby village of Weeting. After outlining her vision for the day my face must have been a picture! thankfully I landed the gig of photography.

The day of the wedding…

The Sun was shining for Jodie, I remember arriving at her parents’ house which was a hive of activity, so many bridesmaids, flowers and wellie boots! When Jodie was ready she looked beautiful, a brilliant white dress and the perfect addition of flowers in the form of a bouquet and a flower crown in her hair, everyone looked very festival chic.

Jodies father and James had put months of work into the preparations for the wedding, leading up to and including the morning of. when I arrived at the venue it blew me away, a miniature Glastonbury had indeed been created.  Flags fluttered in the breeze and the wedding guests made their way through them to a Tee Pee centre stage surrounded by straw bales.

The bridal party arrived together in style on a tractor and trailer. The ceremony was truly magical, and everyone enjoyed the day listening to music surrounded by food vendors and entertainers, The highlight of my day had to be photographing the couple crowd surfing into the sunset.

"I got speaking to Todd at a charity event he and his family organise. I was telling him all about our upcoming nuptials (a festival party in a field) and he was horrified we didn't have a photographer! It wasn't something I thought was necessary as our wedding was going to be so different I AM SO GLAD he persuaded me otherwise. Every picture was exactly what we wanted, totally natural, completely random and really relaxed. Todd and Alex captured our day perfectly and were both so fun. We weren't dragged away from our guests for hours of staged pictures which was our main worry. Thank you Todd, we're so grateful" xx

I first Met Danielle & Nikos for our 1st pre wedding meeting in my local pub, which was very handy, as I later discovered that the couple lived in my local town of Thetford, Norfolk, needless to say we built up a rapport very quickly as they outlined their vision for the day. Glen Lodge Bawburgh was the venue for their special day, and it turned out to be another hot one! The ceremony took place outside in the sunshine, and after the confetti was thrown the wedding guests relaxed in the beautiful setting that is Glen Lodge. After the wedding breakfast, the couple were let loose on the estate in golf buggies for some photographs in the glorious afternoon sunshine. The big Norfolk skies did not disappoint. The wedding of Kay & James took place on a lovely Septembers day at the Poets House, Ely, Cambridgeshire. The hotel and surrounding area proved to be the perfect setting for their wedding, offering plenty of backdrops for the photography. Sunshine, shots of tequila and a bride walking barefoot in the park before sundown, a perfect day A few images from a special day...

I met Justin & Emma at a local charity event where I was doing the photography and a few years latter I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding at the very unique Flint Room in Norwich. The day started off with meeting Emma at Sprowston Manor, and after a short drive into Norwich Emma arrived at the church on time, and walked down the aisle to Justin to " Pink Pony Girl " what else? After a very emotional wedding and speeches the guests enjoyed the grounds of the church playing outdoor games, many of which Emmas father had made himself! The day ended with champagne. " What can I say?! Todd completely captured our day just the way we had hoped and more! He captured a perfect mix of ‘posed’ photos and natural ones of adults, kids, dogs and venue highlights. Todd was so easy to work with, prompt and arrived early and made everyone feel at ease throughout. The quality of his photos are second to none and I can honestly say that his passion for what he does shines through every single one of them, right down to the delivery of your photos " ⭐️ Emma Lince

Late summer for the wedding of Bradley & Kezia at the historic St Andrews Church Scole . I was introduced to the couple by an old friend of mine, and after an initial meeting the couple decided that we were photographers to capture their wedding day. After the ceremony at St Andrews the wedding guests made the short drive to the Star wing Brewery tap in nearby Redgrave, which apart from the obvious choice of craft beers turned out to be a fantastic venue! Late Autumn was the season for the wedding of Sam & Hannah at the stately Hengrave Hall, near Bury St Edmunds Suffolk. From the moment I arrived and took my camera from the bag Hannah was smiling, she was so excited for the day, and what a day it turned out to be! The threatening clouds did not give way to rain and we were so lucky to capture some beautiful moments in the grounds of the Hall. Following the wedding breakfast and speeches, the day soon turned into night and the evenings entertainment was provided by a disco and a sax player. A few images from a special day...

I first met Emily & Jake at a local wedding show, and they told me that they were planning a wedding at Woodhall Manor in Suffolk, I was familiar with the venue, but a return is always welcome as its one of my favourites. The day started off with a little light rain, which freshened up the atmosphere, but unfortunately ruled out an outdoor service, luckily for Jake & Emily Woodhall Manor has a contingency plan for the English weather and the couple tied the Knot inside the Hall. The skies soon gave way to brilliant sunshine and the guests enjoyed canapés drinks and live music in the gardens before a wedding breakfast and speeches. A beautiful evening followed with time spent in the grounds of the Hall for more photography and dancing to a live band. A few images from a special day...

The wedding of Elizabeth & Toby took place on a scorching day in June at Swynford Manor Suffolk. I had previously photographed the couple earlier in the year for an engagement shoot in Cambridge and I was very excited to be there for the wedding. The day albeit a hot one! went perfectly to plan, and Elizabeth looked beautiful walking down the aisle accompanied by her father. Toby kept his cool with a number of beers, and once the sun set the party really got going with the help of some amazing cocktails supplied by the very talented bar staff at Swynford. The wedding of Imogen & Sean took place on a very warm summer’s day at the impressive Hockwold Hall Suffolk. As I drove up the gravel drive to the hall the morning of the wedding the mist had already gave way to brilliant sunshine. A beautiful ceremony was held in the intimate gardens of the Hall in front of the Pergola, and the afternoon was spent catching up with friends & family on the lawns and gardens, before a wedding breakfast in the marquee. Following the speeches I was lucky to spend golden hour with the couple and some of the resident peacocks who grace the Hall with their presence. A live band took on the responsibility for the entertainment and kept everyone on the dance floor well into the early hours. https://hockwoldhallnorfolk.com/ A few images from a memorable day day...

After an initial meeting with Maddie & Jake we were thrilled to hear that they were planning on tying the knot in the Dordogne region of France. After a short flight to the regional airport of Brive-la-Gaillarde we had an overnight stay in a beautiful B&B before making our way to Château du Raysse on the morning of the wedding, needless to say we were blown away by the beautiful venue. Maddie & Jake had the perfect day, it really could not have been better A few images from a magical day...

We had the pleasure of meeting Jessy & Neil at a local wedding Fayre, and hit it off straight away. They outlined their vision for their day and we were thrilled that they chose us as their photographers. The day started with Jessy getting ready at her parent's house in Cambridge before transferring to South Farm. It was a beautiful autumn day, and the light was perfect. Jessy looked incredible walking down the aisle to Neil and the couple had a perfect day, with country dancing, rugby scrums and even the farm piglets putting in an appearance! Limoncello fuelled celebrations continued well into the night! "Todd and Bethany photographed our wedding at South Farm in October. They were great throughout the whole process. Listening to our requests and delivering AMAZING photos! Their family based business really made the experience personal. From meeting the whole family at a wedding fayre to Todd and his wife delivering the personalised memory stick to our house. We would highly recommend Todd and Bethany! We can't choose our favourite photos because they're all so amazing. Their candid style and attention to detail is outstanding" Neil Wakefield.
